Bootleg Thomas the Train toys

Thomas the Train is a brutal killing machine… in the world of cheap, illegal Chinese imports.This particular model is composed of three trains that break apart and fold into a Voltron-like robot.

Look upon Thomas the Transformer as a way to keep the magic alive long after your kid has outgrown Thomas the Train.

Japanator.com has a report about the weird world of Asian knock-off Thomas toys. The photo above is from likecool.com which has a few other excellent views of this particular toy.

If you are not revolted by the thought of peaceful, happy Thomas turning into a violent angst-ridden robot, you’ll be delighted to know he’s available on eBay (averaging $7 plus a sneaky $15 shipping charge).

To clarify for any geeks, yes, I’m aware Voltron and Transformers were two different cartoons.
