Breastfeeding doll now sold in the US

Remember Bebé Glotón, the infant doll made by Spanish toy company Berjuan, and the American freak-out response? Well, this completely normal and innocent toy is now available in the US for $99 via All Argentina Store. The retailer is selling the dolls on eBay for shipping within the US.
You may find a few other stray sellers on that eBay link.
Some of All Argentina Store’s auctions list the doll as sold out with a new shipment expected December 18th, while other auctions simply state a new shipment has arrived. You’ll also notice two versions being sold, one for $99 and one for $113 which, at the time of this writing, reflects whether you want free shipping or not. It’s not free of course; you’re just being told the final price up front.

I’m a little puzzled by this doll. Only because, in my experience, everything gets breast fed by small children. As soon as kids (my own, cousins, whatever) see a woman breast feeding, they start breast feeding everything they own: stuffed animals, toy trucks, dolls.

I agree, children mimic what they see. However, my youngest would LOVE one of these dolls! Unfortunately the $99 price tag keeps us away. Any chance for a Thingamababy reader giveaway? LOL

Agreed. My daughter nursed Costco receipts.
The doll is for parents who want to give their child a traditional baby doll. There are all sorts of interactive dolls on the market — eating, peeing, pooping, etc. This one just happens to mimic nursing.

Ha ha, AJ. Mine nursed stickers and notebook paper.

For me this falls in the category of creepy dolls, not anything immoral or outrageous. Baby Alive does similar natural things like eating and pooping and I hate that one too.

I am waiting until they come out with a lactation specialist doll because if my child teaches the doll to latch on incorrectly, she might quit breastfeeding before the recommended time. Just in case I have to say it, I was just kidding.
