Hmmm... in that first video it almost looked like the wise, super-intelligent dolphins were communicating with the unborn baby - calling it forth from the womb - one sea creature to another. Then again maybe they were just eager for a baby snack.

Given the transference of bodily fluids into the water, I wonder if this enriching experience for the dolphins carries any risk of illness for them.

I'm sure this is a very enriching experience for the dolphins. Why should we deprive them?

Hey, I used to be an alternative energy & counter-culture loving 20-something hippie college student in Humboldt county! Now I'm an alternative energy & counter-culture loving 30-something (slightly more cynical) hippie living in the SF Bay Area. I'm down with whatever birthing method keeps mom & baby healthy, and mom, dad & baby happy.

Having said that, I wouldn't be popping out my bloody little bundle of joy into any body of water occupied by wild, meat-eating animals. I'm just sayin'.

I swam with dolphins once. It was a fun but definitely not a magical transcendent experience. I won't be signing up for the birthing with dolphins or finding my inner dolphin. Thank you for posting this, I needed a good laugh!
