I like to get my Doctor Who fix without waiting 12+ months. The US DVD releases don't occur until the scifi and BBC America channels have aired the show. We picked up a region-free player on Amazon a couple of years back for about $50 and have not regretted it for one second. At the time we just bought it because it was cheap and we needed a DVD player, but having a region free player in the house has expanded our options so much. I highly recommend the investment. It looks beautiful.
