Photo: The Best Part of Having a Toddler

…having your 18-month-old want to help Dad carry the laundry basket down the hall.

He’s not lifting any of the weight, obviously; he’s just holding on. Normally he uses two hands, but I came through the room while he was practicing his soccer ball throwing. Using his own strength he can drag this loaded basket anywhere he wants to go.

They’re such good “helpers,” aren’t they? :)

I love when my little ones “pitch in”. My 20m old carried (dragged) a sleeping bag out to the car when his big brother was on his way to an overnight.
Cute!
PS – tho it’s cute to see a toddler helping with laundry, it’s even better to see a Daddy tackle the laundry! (my hubs does much of it at our house too).

Our 18 month old is in the exact same stage. Whatever Mommy and Daddy do, she wants to do it to. As we were waiting for my husband to get in the car this weekend she decided to try and start the car with the keys… but instead of the ignition she stuck the keys into the open cigarette lighter (we use it to power our many electronic devices on long road trips) and blew the fuse. Luckily, it was an easy fix, and it scared me a whole lot without hurting her at all.

Mine now wants to help with the cooking, which gets really fun when he INSISTS on dropping the pasta noodles in the boiling water and opening the oven to check on the garlic bread.
Trying to teach him the joy of folding laundry instead.
