Arrr! Pirate Photo Contest
Grab your camera and get snapping. It’s a pirate photo contest!
“The music of Emphatical Piratical is crafted with all the hooks, salt-water whimsy, lush landscapes, and inspired silliness that fans of Captain Bogg & Salty have come to expect over the last 10 years, yet a whole new trove of treasures has been added to the hold. Populated by kooky tiki rhythms, moonlit melodies, and boat-rocking riffs Emphatical Piratical is a 12 track island of musical adventure for pirates of all ages.”
“A fun and interactive Shake ‘N Bobbles Pirate Ship that rocks while anchored at ‘sea.’ It includes a mechanical cannon, gang plank and anchor, treasure chest, two Shake ‘N Bobbles Pirates and a shark. Press the fish button to hear pirate songs and listen to seagulls and the sounds of the sea!”
“The dreaded Dirty Joe and his piratical crew sail in search of the smelliest treasure ever: dirty socks! The rogues cheerfully pillage their way across the seven seas, until the day they run across another band of pirates — one led by the notorious Stinky Annie. Has Dirty Joe finally met his match?”
That’s six winners total with prizes for a range of ages!
Photo theme: Inspired by Captain Bogg & Salty’s arrsome band photo, submit a photo of your child releasing his inner pirate. Your child’s face should be clearly visible with a snarl, evil grin or even a sourpuss pucker (eat a lime!). Your child does not need to dress like a pirate, but should embody piratehood through facial expression and/or gestures.
(I spliced the above image from one of the band’s promo photos by photographer Anthony Georgis. The band has other more happy-go-lucky photos befitting a children’s band, but I’m seeking real piratitude in your submitted image.)
The deadline: 12:59 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 Pacific Time.
- E-mail one original photo (or a link to one) of your child or children on the stated theme with an e-mail subject of “Pirate Contest” to this address: email@example.com.
- In the e-mail, write the names of the prizes in your numbered order of preference. For example, 1. Captain Bogg CD. 2. Funrise pirate ship toy. 3. Dirty Joe book. If you are selected as a winner, I will do my best to match you with the most age appropriate prize.
Other Legal Jargon:
Six total winners will be selected by my wife and I based on whatever strikes our fancy.
You, the photo submitter, must be the parent or legal guardian of all children pictured in the photo.
The contest is open only to residents of the United States or Canada (your shipping address must be in the US or Canada).
Submitted photos may be published on Thingamababy with a “Thingamababy.com” watermark along with a mention of your first name, but you otherwise retain rights to the photo and your privacy. The names of the hometowns (no street addresses) of the six winners will be published. I’m not responsible for e-mails not received, and all that legal jargon. Let’s keep this simple and fun, eh?
