I have learned a lot from your review. I could not find some of the answers I was looking for on Orecks page. But your review covered it all. Thank you.

I just purchased the Halo. LOVE IT. I have 3 cats and even with frontline (for fleas) we are still finding them in the house. They get on us outside and WE bring them in...not so much the cats.

I have noticed a big difference with the dust in the air too.

Its also great on kitchen floor...turn off beater bar!!!!

Buy it...you'll love it too

Is there any mention of exposed surfaces fading? For example, faded carpets or discolorations appearing on hardwood finishes? Naturally-occurring UV light is known to fade things. Granted, if your carpet is white, this is a non-issue!

smurfett, the Halo is marketed as being for both carpets and hardwood floors. You don't use the motorized brush on hardwood.

Growing up with both asthma and wall-to-wall carpeting, I wonder how drastically different my childhood could have been had this been around in the 70s. Now, my childhood asthma is a big part of the reason we have hardwood floors and very few carpets, but I think if either of my kiddos are unfortunate enough to develop asthma, I could see myself considering the insanity of a $600 vacuum...
