To follow up with JMo, we returned the Exersaucer today and will be using the PopATot exclusively from here on out.

I was a part of the testing program too. My daughter (a year old now) hated it for most of the time that we were testing. It was my 3 y/o that really got use out of it. He used it as a fort. My 1 y/o does enjoy it from time to time now, and especially likes to use it outdoors.

We have a new baby due in December and hopefully I can get him started in it earlier than I did my 1 y/o and he'll really enjoy the full range of benefits :)

overall, we like ours a lot better than the exersaucer for many reasons, but my main gripe is how a 6 month old's feet don't touch the floor. I just feel like that's not comfortable or safe. but we remedied that with a firm pillow. our kid seemed much happier at that point

Good question. The honest answer is we would buy both. An Exersaucer is good at 4 months while the PopATot starts at 6 months. So a PopATot isn't a complete replacement at the early stage.

Indoors, both products are about as cumbersome (large) to move from one room to the other. But there's some magical distance, say from my living room to my backyard, where I'm more comfortable collapsing and expanding the PopATot instead of lugging the Exersaucer out.

I'd concede that PopATot makes more sense for your second child because you'll be more active as parents by then, taking your baby to a lot of activities you wouldn't if he was a single child.

But if you're an outdoorsy couple who is unencumbered by being new parents, the PopATot makes sense from the get-go.

My babe is almost too old for this, but I'll keep an eye out for one when we have our second. I love the portability aspect!

So, if you were to do this all over again, would you buy this instead of an exersaucer? Or, do you really think that you need/can justify having both (one for home; one for travel)?

I loved having the exersaucer to put my son in while we showered and got ready for work in the morning. I guess I'm wondering if this could realistically (and conveniently) be used in the same way, thus eliminating the need for a bulky exersaucer?

While I don't like the excersaucers and I would be hesitant with this for the same reasons, I do love this review. I can definitly see the use at things like a soccer game or day at the park for those times when a "standing man" needs to be entertained for a bit.

I might actually consider this product now; you have made me a believer...although, I still will not have an excersaucer in my home.
