Winners #31, #32 and #33

Diary of a Spider DVD cover.

"MoJo" from Freshwater, California has won Scholastic’s Diary of a Spider DVD
that includes read-along captioning for kids learning to read. It’s
adapted from the original book by Doreen Cronin, illustrated by Harry
Bliss, and now narrated by Angus T. Jones.

Other stories on the DVD include Roberto the Insect Architect, Norman
the Doorman, The Mysterious Tadpole and The Story of the Dancing Frog.

Whoah, MoJo is my first local-to-me winner. What makes Freshwater great for raising kids? MoJo reports that raccoons inspect the family’s trash. Okay, I guess that beats bird watching from the front window.

"Jennifer" from Lakeside, California takes home Red Grammer’s Down the Do Re Mi, one of Red’s six wonderful act-out sing-along children’s albums.
(read the review). You really can’t go wrong with any of them.

What makes her town special for kids? Jennifer reports, "I live in San Diego
county! The specific
area I live in is old country: horses, farm living, lots of land to
run around in and really stay in touch with the ‘old’ American
values."

Hot Peas and Butter CD cover

"Nancy" from Denville, New Jersey takes home the children’s music CD Hot Peas and Butter Volume 4: The Pod Squad.

Danny Lapidus and Francisco Cotto produce sophisticated children’s
tunes in English and Spanish. You may recognize ‘Different Spokes’ in
recent rotation on the Noggin’ Network.

Nancy reports on the one special thing about her town: "My town is extremely family friendly. The recreation department has
sports year round, including clinics during the summer for every
sport. There are trips to local amusements (in northern NJ
there’s a lot in a few hours drive), a street fair sponsored by the
Rotary, the fire department throws a carnival every June (it’s this
week, in fact), there are a few parades during the year and
fireworks on the Fourth. There is no shortage of things to do
for families."

These three winners were randomly selected from comments
posted anywhere on Thingamababy between June 14 and June 20 in the Thinga-Appreciation Giveaways #7, #8 and #9.
These contests continue this week. Thanks everyone for participating on Thingamababy!

Not -everyone- :) In fact, I would not expect most people too. I don’t want to get spam at work.

I don’t, but your email came through as Spam for some reason. Lesson learned to check those emails in my spam box once in a while.

I am so looking forward to getting my CD

I don’t either, and I read your email and then promptly forgot about it. I’ll go reply right now though. Thanks!
