One book we came across at the library is called "Willy and the Cardboard Boxes" by Lizi Boyd. Willy goes to work with his dad and gets to spend the day imagining and creating all kinds of adventures out of cardboard boxes. My son, a few weeks shy of 2, loves it. Also, check out this website http://www.foldschool.com/_about/about_start/about_start.html
where you can download patterns to make kid-sized furniture out of cardboard boxes. I have yet to try them but they look awesome.
