Five Links for Looking, Volume 6

1. Kiddie Records Weekly was profiled here two years ago and is worth a reminder revisit. The website takes children’s records that were produced in the 1940s and 1950s and rescues one each week by converting it to MP3 and making it available for download.

Introduce these crackly recordings to your toddler by finding records on familiar topics. Check out the December listings for each year to compile some nice Christmas stories. My 3-year-old daughter has watched a live performance of The Nutcracker two years running, so The Nutcracker Suite for Children was a natural. Or try: The House at Pooh Corner, Babar, Peter and the Wolf or The Little Engine that Could.

2. Four things children really want for Christmas (via Parent Hacks).

3. Entertaining Isabella without TV (an oldie, but a goodie).

4. How to be a great dad – 12 tips.

5. Video: Five dangerous things you should let your kids do (the speaker gets to the heart of the issue at 1:40).

Congratulations to Alex of Neatorama who is now a daddy-o.

See previous: more linky goodness.
