Three Reality Check Videos for Thanksgiving
The following three videos are tearjerkers, striking at the heart of what it means to be a parent. They are actually poorly subtitled commercials for a Thai life insurance company, but they’ll give me pause this Thanksgiving.
After starting a video, keep your mouse pointer off the display so that Youtube’s annoying video selector widget doesn’t obscure the captions.
Daddy: "A woman asked me to deliver her child before the due date."
My Son: "I wish I had more time so I can tell my son that I love him with all my heart."
My Girl: "From the first time I saw her, I promised to myself that I’ll love her and take care of her forever."
And here are three extra videos by the same company along similar themes, worthwhile if you enjoyed the first three videos.
Grandma: "Only a miracle could make her play piano again."
Grandpa: "Can you figure out the reason an 86-year-old man wakes up early every morning [...] to walk from his home about 10 miles to play a song on the hill?"
Marry Me: "A girl who should only know happiness suffered from the final stages of leukemia."
