Just looking at the number for clothing, it is WAY low. I figure I will spend $900.07 just for diapers in the first year. This is for 52 weeks of diaper service at $15.99/wk + tax. (The $900 doesn't include diaper covers or the occasional disposable diaper)

I wish I had started saving our grocery receipts so that I know how much I've spent on formula...

Parents spend the money on babies or on toys for themselves?

No, I don't have kids (yet), but I did find out that my husband and I spent over 15k on travel expenses last year.

When my sister had kids, the babies apparently needed a $250 Eddie Bauer stroller and Baby Gap apparal (things from Kohls or Target "look cheap" she said).

I am not criticizing her, after all I am quite the spender but the kids didn't ask for an Eddie Bauer stroller. I am not even sure if a stroller is a necessity (again, I don't have kids).

Does that cost include child care or income loss from a stay at home mother?
