Do not buy this product!!!!! Parts of the kit have tested positively for lead, arsenic, mercury and PVC.

I have this toy & I think I am just gonna throw out the whole kit & kaboodle. I do not want a replacement. How do you know the replacement isn’t tainted with more lead & arsenic. This is getting ridiculous.

I just called Fisher Price about the toxic blood pressure cuff from this toy. Though they have not actually recalled it, they will replace the blood pressure cuff on demand. Oh, and for the record, the cuff also contains high level high levels of arsenic and some mercury, too. (see http://www.healthytoys.org) It’s just super that my daughter has been playing with a poisonous toy for the past year.

I have looked all over online and have been unable to find anywhere that Fisher Price recalled the blood pressure cuff in the medical kit. I just got one of those kits for my kids this Christmas and I’m a little concerned about whether I should let them play with it. Any info on there the recall is announced??

This was recalled do to lead. The red cuff part. If you own this call and get a replacement.

I tested our cuff with a home testing kit and it did come up positive for lead…doesn’t it stink that one of the best parts of the kit is one that has to be put aside? I called FP and was told that they have no plans to recall any part of the kit and feel the CR study was flawed. They did not address my concerns about the home testing kit being positive, and did not offer any type of replacement, etc.

If your mother-in-law has the receipt, return the product to the store.

Or, remove the blood pressure cuff from use. Wait for the CPSC to issue a "voluntary" recall, then follow the instructions to obtain a new cuff.

If no "voluntary" recall is issued, simply throw away the blood pressure cuff.

So any suggestions for a medical kit now that the one my mother-in-law just purchased for my kids is lead-tainted? We definitely would prefer a no-battery one. We would just ditch plastic and go with the Haba one, but alas, no working stethoscope…

I think the age limit is because of the ittle red pieces at the ends of the stethoscope earpieces... at least back in the day (read, vintage fisher price medical kits), those always came off eventually.

I love the fact that their kit has not significantly changed since the original ones...
