Thanks for the review! I was about to buy a sling bookshelf from One-Step-Ahead, but I changed my mind about reading your comment about the fabric pockets being too deep.

Instead, I am buying a toddler pick-a-book stand by Jonti-Craft, from Education Works. The pick-a-book stand has roughly the same dimensions and price as the sling bookshelf, but the wooded shelves look better suited for small books.

My kid has a regular, old-fashioned book shelf and he actually like thumbing through the books to find which one he wants as a bed-time story. It's as if each spine is a surprise when he realized what book it is. BTW, thanks for pointing me to Vegan Lunch Box. My family isn't vegan (just regular vegetarian), and some of that stuff looks great. The hard part will be finding some of those ingredients like kelp granules. cheers!
