Hi, coming from Asia, potty "training" is a new process for me to understand. most children learn from seeing other children back at home. however, we are not close to our neighbors or have kids around for our son to get to interact with them and hence perhaps even see what it is about. I try to bring him myself but I am also working fulltime, which makes it difficult. So, I was thinking to introduce a potty doll.

Your site is excellent, I've learned a good deal already on a few things. However, I dont know what is the 'recommended' potty doll.. have people had success with them?

Thank you.

Hmmm... I've never heard of a bear using a toilet, so maybe potty training DOLLS are the way to go, even for dads who don't want their sons to play with girlie dolls. PS: It's not always an issue of dad's insecurity with his own manhood, but of social conformity (and both moms and dads are equally susceptible to this). And the more men who are involved in taking care of their babies, the easier it will be for SOCIETY to be OK with boys who want to play with dolls.

AAAAARG! Proud Papa, you're not simply a pig, it sounds like you're painfully insecure about your own manhood. What terrible outcome can there be from your son playing with a doll? Do you ever worry that if you "won't allow your son to play with dolls" they could become the things he most wants?

Why do we have to only have dolls that wet??? I want to buy a bear that wets or something. Call me a chauvinist pig, but I won't allow my 3 1/2 year old boy to play with dolls. It's just not right. Is there a bear or something that wets? - proud Papa
