Preview: Turn Your Head Wooden Keepsake

The folks at Turn Your Head
have struck on an awesome way to capture a baby’s likeness.

Photo from turnyourhead.com showing a baby's face lined up against the baby's sihouette in a cylindrical block of woodSend them a
properly staged photo of his face face and they cut his silhouette into a
cynlinder of wood – creating a vase-like optical illusion. Some
visitors to your home will see an odd, but artsy piece of wood. Others will see
the profile of your baby.

It’s sure different than the usual keepsakes – photographs, video tape, painted handprints, and footprints in cement. (Link via BBspot.)

I’m not too certain that this is real. BBSpot tends to be a satire website so this very well could follow that. Definetly is an interesting idea though.

BBspot is satire, but this site was listed in the “Daily Links” section, a portion of BBspot that contains links to off-site content that is funny, interesting or strange. Anyone willing to pay for this artwork could call the Colorado phone number listed on Turn Your Head’s contact page to check ‘em out.

BBspot had changed it seems since the last time I dropped by. The idea behind this block of wood is a decent one I guess. Could only be truly appreciated by the family I assume. Others either wouldnt see it or simply wouldnt care.
